# Trending Graphs

The **Trending Graphs** tool in Incident Tracker allows you to visually analyze trends in report categories over a selected period of time. You can compare activity across one or two different time ranges.

***

## Accessing Trending Graphs

1. Navigate to **Reports and Analytics > Trending Graphs**.
2. Use the configuration fields to define your search.

***

## Graph Setup Options

You can configure the following before generating the graph:

1. **Select Category**
   * Choose a single report category or **All Categories**.
2. **Select Time Frame**
   * Define a date range for your primary dataset.
   * You can also select a **second time frame** for comparison.
3. **Select Interval (X-Axis)**
   * Choose how the data is grouped (e.g., Week, Month, Quarter).
4. **Y-Axis Unit**
   * Choose what is measured:
     * **Category Count**
     * **Custom Metrics** (if enabled)

***

## Viewing Results

Once you've selected your filters, the graph will populate with a visual representation of the chosen category over time.

* **Light Blue Line** = First Time Frame
* **Yellow Line** = Second Time Frame (if selected)

Data points represent report frequency per interval unit (e.g., per week).
