# Activity Hotspots

The **Activity Hotspots** tool provides statistical breakdowns of incidents based on selected variable combinations. This feature helps identify trends or patterns across categories, locations, or personnel, allowing for better decision-making and resource allocation.

## Step 1: Select Variables

Choose which data points you want to include in the analysis. You may select multiple options depending on the level of detail you're looking for.

Available variables include:

* Day
* Location
* People
* **Category** (commonly used)
  * Optionally include **Sub-Category**

## Step 2: Set Date Range

Select a single date range to analyze, or compare two different ranges for trend comparison.

1. Choose the start and end dates
2. Optionally click **“Add a Second Date Range to Compare Results”**
3. Click **Set Date Range**

## Step 3: Run the Analysis

1. Use the dropdown to choose how many results you’d like to view:
   * Top 10, Top 25, Top 50, or All
2. Click **Execute Analysis**
3. The results will display below in table format, showing grouped variables with their total count and $/loss values (if applicable)
