# Importing Data

Incident Tracker allows administrators to efficiently import user data in bulk, streamlining the process of adding multiple users to the system. This feature is particularly useful during initial setup or when onboarding large groups of users.

## Accessing the Import Data Feature

To begin importing user data:

1. Navigate to **Admin > Importing Data**.
2. Select the **Import Logins/Users** tab.

## Preparing Your Import File

Before importing, ensure your data file meets the required format:

* Download the sample template provided in the **Import Logins/Users** section.
* Populate the template with user information, ensuring all required fields are completed.
* Save the file in a compatible format (e.g., `.csv`).

> Required fields typically include:
>
> * First Name
> * Last Name
> * Email Address
> * Username
> * Password

## Importing the User Data

Once your file is prepared:

1. Click **Choose File** and select your prepared import file.
2. Click **Test Import** to validate the data.
   * This step checks for errors without importing the data.
3. Review any errors and make necessary corrections to your file.
4. Once the file passes the test, click **Import** to add the users to the system.

## Post-Import Actions

After successfully importing users:

* Assign appropriate user rights and restrictions to each new user.
* Inform users of their login credentials and any necessary setup steps.
